Venus Jan is currently the Director of Creative Services of Fashion For A Cure.
Born and raised in Qingdao, China, until she relocated to Queens New York at the age of 16. Venus was faced with struggles early in life. The young superstar was forced to cope with the divorce of her parent and as a result she was raised by her grandfather. Her grandfather provided her with life lesson about life and ensured that she was able to obtains a quality education. Many may define these times in her life as hard and a struggle, but Venus identifies them as “..life experiences that taught her the value and repercussions of hard work…” When reflecting on her life, Jan states she “…credits all of my success to my grandfather”.
Growing up Jan was a shy girl who had dreams of becoming a model but never pursed it. In addition to those dreams, she had an undying love for music. Venus made use of her love for music and allowed it to become the gateway out of her shell; she became a DJ. While mastering her craft as a DJ, a close friend convinced Jan to purse her dream to model. With a new found confidence, birthed by a love of music, Venus accompanied her friend to an agency test shoot. She had no intention to do anything but provide support for a friend. After a brief talk with the agency’s representative she agreed to take a couple of pictures as well. The following day Venus booked her first modeling job with Cosmopolitan Magazine for an advertisement shoot and the rest is history…
